Florence and Tuscany Guide

Capital of Tuscany and full of art. The whole city is like an open-air museum with all the renaissance treasures.

Ponte Vecchio – famous covered bridge over the Arno River, where the goldsmiths have their shops.

Accedemia – Home to Michaelangelo’s David. Book in advance, otherwise you may queue for hours and not even get inside.

Uffuci – Home to much renaissance art.

Pitti palace and Gardens

Santa Croce – church that has the tombs of Galileo, Dante, Machiavelli. Worth a visit.

Santa Croce Square – full of cafes and leather shops –

Duomo – huge domed cathedral. Climb the tower or up into the dome. Almost 400 steps but worth it.

St Lorenzo

Around Florence – Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, St Giminagno, Collodi
