Penang Island has changed a lot in the last 20 years, it is very built up and the skyline now resembles Hong Kong. The place we are staying by the beach is very commercial and noisy.
Today we headed to Georgetown, founded by the British and the main town on the island. We saw the British quarter, a Chinese village, Little India, a Thai Temple and a Burmese Temple.
The rest of today and all of tomorrow are free, which is nice in a way, but strange as I am not used to having so much free time on a tour. The day after tomorrow we head home so that’s it – the tour is over.
The hotel is full of Saudis with there wives, wearing black burkas in this heat.
Will head back to the food court for dinner.
